Colour Wheel, a month-long celebration of contemporary art curated by Romartika Art Decoded, brings together four consecutive group exhibitions at Malaka Spice throughout August 2026. Showcasing the works of fifteen artists, the exhibition presents a compelling spectrum of artistic voices, techniques, and visual philosophies, offering Pune’s art lovers an immersive journey through colour, texture, form, and imagination.
Sonal V. Saxena’s intricate hatchings and swirling patterns evoke the timeless grace of classical India, while Filomina Pawer’s enigmatic forms invite quiet contemplation and personal interpretation. Reema Singh captures the enduring charm of historic monuments, preserving the poetry of antiquity on canvas. Young prodigy Dav Gawli reveals an astonishing command of abstraction, transforming intuitive thought into compelling visual expression. Pallavi Pathak’s vibrant compositions radiate festive exuberance, while Udayan Dandekar’s masterful pastel landscapes dissolve the boundary between viewer and scene through striking realism.
Jayanta Ghoshal’s concept-driven works extend far beyond the visible image, provoking reflection on deeper human narratives. Usha Chauhan’s landscapes whisper of distant horizons, and Priti Anand’s layered abstractions balance darkness with luminous hope, reflecting life’s resilience amidst adversity. Sharvari’s abstract landscapes romance the beauty of nature, while Priti Desai’s richly textured surfaces explore the intricate complexities of human existence. Completing the ensemble, Sirisha Perla demonstrates remarkable artistic maturity, her accomplished works standing out despite her recent entry into the world of art. Rishi Baksi’s visual language merges the boldness of Pop Art with the emotional intensity of Expressionism. His canvases, rich in symbolism and raw energy, evoke the caustic sarcasm and existential angst reminiscent of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Yet Baksi’s work remains distinctly his own, offering a sharp, thought-provoking reflection on contemporary society through a uniquely Indian perspective.
