There are days that leave an indelible mark on your heart. They are not dates in the calendar, but milestones that you hold close—tipped with pride, embroidered with memories, and with promise. Graduation Day 2025 at JD School of Design and JD Institute of Fashion Technology was one such day. A well-organised event on 22nd August at Prabhath Kaladwaraka in Bengaluru, the celebration was not just about the ceremony. It was a testament to every late night, every sketch, every stitch, every critique, and every small win that led these students to the final line.
The atmosphere in the room was palpable—equal parts joy, reminiscence, and a pinch of apprehension. More than 300 students graduated across the platform, each with their own story, their own struggles, and their own triumphs. From fashion design to interior design and jewellery design, each student had invested years of study not just on how to design, but on how to think, how to feel, and how to express who they are by what they do.
When the students proceeded to accept their certificates, there was a smile on every face—some with pride and others holding back tears. To many of them, this was not an individual achievement—it was a triumph alongside family members who had encouraged them, with coaches who had guided them, and with friends who had taken them as their second family.
Perhaps the most moving statement of the day was uttered by Mr. Nealesh Dalal, Managing Trustee, JD Educational Trust. With a warm, beaming smile, he said, “It’s inspiring to see the remarkable journey that these brilliant young designers are embarking on today. They have grown up and joined the workforce—not just with skills acquired but with a feel for creativity, passion, and determination that will definitely be the building blocks for success in the future.”
And it was so. These were not graduates, exactly; they were dreamers, visionaries, and tellers of stories. Some had arrived at JD unsure of what to do—afraid, curious, hopeful. Today, they graduated as professionals with not only technical skills but a sense of voice, of purpose, and of who they are intended to be in the world.
The day wasn’t so much about the past—it was also about the future. In a dramatic reveal that left students and professors abuzz, JD launched its new ‘Digital Design Experience’ program category, which will debut next year. This forward-thinking program opens doors to creative playhouses in VFX, animation, multimedia, web design, and immersive design—all disciplines that are redefining the future of digital storytelling and interaction. It’s JD’s take on not only being in the moment, but ahead of the moment.
It was symbolic—paying respect to the past, yet already paving the way for what lies ahead.
For over 37 years, JD Institute of Fashion Technology has been nurturing creativity, fueling curiosity, and helping students translate raw talent into refined vision. And with JD School of Design, the school continuously redefines what learning in art, media, and design is all about. This graduation was proof of that heritage—and a reminder that every great designer has an untold story.
As the day came to a close, hugs were more difficult, laughter a little more audible, and eyes a little brighter. Phones lit up the hallway as families absorbed the moment their child became a professional. Teachers stood smiling discreetly in the background, knowing this was goodbye—but also the beginning of so much more.
Graduation Day 2025 was not so much about the end of something. It was about becoming something. And for the JD graduates, it’s clear—they’re ready for the world.
