New Delhi, October 15, 2026: Hunger Free Bharat movement will take its message of compassion, community participation and social responsibility to the streets of Delhi as more than 70 members of its team participate in the Vedanta Great Delhi Run on October 18, 2026.
Organised by Vedanta the Great Delhi Run will provide a platform for participants to combine fitness with a larger social purpose. Celebrities are also likely to participate, adding further momentum to the campaign and its message of “Run for Zero Hunger.”
Arvind Kumar, Founder of Hunger Free Bharat https://www.youtube.com/@HungerfreeBharat appreciated Anil Agarwal Foundation & Vedanta for bringing together sport and social consciousness through the event.
“The Great Delhi Run is a wonderful example of how sport can become a vehicle for social change. The message ‘Run for Zero Hunger’ closely reflects the vision of Hunger Free Bharat that no one should sleep hungry. When people come together with a shared purpose, every step can help create awareness and inspire action,” said Arvind Kumar.
He said that sporting events have the ability to reach people across age groups and communities and can transform public participation into meaningful awareness.
“It is heartening to see sports emerging as a powerful force for social change and bringing people together for causes that truly matter. Renowned actors Shri Vindu Dara Singh and Shri Aroon Bakshi will also participate in the Rashtriya Cricket League to raise awareness about food wastage and reinforce the message that every meal saved can make a difference in someone’s life. Sports have the power to go beyond boundaries, inspire collective action and turn awareness into meaningful change. Through this initiative, we aim to encourage responsible food consumption, reduce food wastage and strengthen our collective resolve towards a Hunger-Free India. We firmly believe that the fight against hunger is not the responsibility of one individual or organisation, but a shared responsibility of society as a whole,” he added.
Hunger Free Bharat https://www.instagram.com/hungerfreebharat_has been working to raise awareness about hunger and food wastage while encouraging individuals, institutions and communities to take responsible action. The initiative believes that ensuring access to food and reducing unnecessary wastage require participation from every section of society.
The same philosophy is also reflected in the Rashtriya Cricket League (RCL), which combines the popularity of cricket with the mission of Hunger Free Bharat. Through the league, the initiative seeks to engage the restaurant industry, sportspersons, celebrities and the wider community in creating greater awareness about food wastage and hunger.
Arvind Kumar extended his special thanks to Mr. Nikhil Pant, Founder, Lakshyaa and Management team of Procam International for giving Hunger Free Bharat the opportunity to be part of the Vedanta Great Delhi Run 2026. He expressed his appreciation for their support and encouragement towards initiatives that create meaningful social impact.
The participation of the Hunger Free Bharat team in the Vedanta Great Delhi Run 2026 is aimed at turning every kilometre into a message of solidarity and every participant into an ambassador for the cause.
