Indigenous defence companies, including new private players like Vijayan Trishul Defence Solutions (VTDS), are focusing on developing advanced small arms, smart munitions, and precision-strike systems that meet the needs of modern warfare.

These include next-generation missiles like BrahMos, hypersonic weapons, smart surveillance systems, and advanced drone-defence technologies. Once considered distant goals, these projects are now taking shape in Indian laboratories and factories.
Importantly, this shift is not just about building for India. Countries around the world are now looking to India as a reliable defence partner. Indian systems are already in service in several friendly nations. This is strengthening both security relationships and long-term trust.
A key driver of this progress is the growing role of private defence companies. Unlike the earlier public-sector-led model, today’s defence ecosystem welcomes fast-moving, innovation-driven players who can quickly adapt and deliver.
